Ridley Road

The excellent Ridley Road is now out as an audiobook.  Really enjoyed narrating this book, written by the lovely Jo Bloom.

Tuesday, 3 February 2015's already Feb!

I'd been meaning to entitle my first post of 2015 Happy New Year! But, erm, it's already February so I'm bit late.  I can only blame it on January being surprisingly busy for a January.

Last week I finished recording the audiobook of the excellent Villa Girls by Nicky Pellegrino.  It features plenty of holiday talk and gorgeous passages featuring bougainvillea clad terraces - a perfect antidote to this freezing winter!

Catch up with my latest Shambridge episodes, featuring most of the female cast of The Archers and a few surprise voices!

The Woman in the Picture

Had the pleasure of reading the excellent The Woman in the Picture for an audiobook to be released soon. Set in 1926, amid the General Strike, its protagonist is Evelyn Gifford, a newly qualified solicitor - one of only very few women in the profession.

Sizzling Sicily

London Voice Boutique

I'm very happy to announce that I am now represented by brand new voice agency London Voice Boutique

Palazzo Fava

Just voiced the an audioguide for Palazzo Fava in Bologna. A lovely job which brought back very happy memories of my year at Bologna University.  The Palazzo's sumptuous frescos by the Carracci brothers are well worth a look.

Gaming demo

I've compiled a montage of some of the gaming characters I've voiced.  It features Xenia in Nintendo's Xenoblade Chronicles, Sophie in Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights, Jenny Ratchett in TV Superstars and Kitsune in The Night of the Rabbit The film can also be found in the videos page of this website.

Sounds of The Archers

Radio 4's The Archers has millions of devoted fans and, luckily, many of them have given my Shambridge podcasts a great reception.  The excellent Dum Tee Dum podcast, which I contribute to, is definitely worth a weekly download. Even if you're not an Archer's fan, it's thoroughly entertaining, exactly what a podcast should be.

Houses of Parliament - home from home

Just recorded a kids' audio tour for the Houses of Parliament Keen to do the tour myself now, it was fascinating and I'd no idea I knew so little about government!

Monday, 2 June 2014

Food of Love

Recording the audiobook for The Food of Love Cookery School by Nicky Pellegrino this week. It's a delicious read in every sense, set around a cookery school run by dishy Italian, Luca, in a hilltop town in Sicily.  What could be more inspiring...

Only a week left to enjoy Renaissance Impressions at the Royal Academy. I narrate the audio guide and it was a fascinating read.

Go Getty

Still doing lots of work for BBC Motion Gallery who've now partnered up with Getty Images. This week, I was narrating a film about Jersey, the sunniest place in the British Isles. That said, London's had its fair share of glorious sunshine this week...if only it would last!

Monday, 24 March 2014

Monday, 17 March 2014

The Renaissance Impressions exhibition has just opened at the Royal Academy. I narrated a fascinating audio tour about a collection of 16th century chiaroscuro woodcuts. This was part of the Renaissance I knew little about, and it's well worth exploring!

Home sweet studio

Been recording a lot in my home studio recently that I'm wondered whether to invest in it a bit and get some fancy new sound proofing.  I wonder this about 4 times a year so should probably crack on!

Recruiting Reserves

Took a trip today to beautiful Henley to present a training film for the British Army. This did entail dressing as an soldier which, as I'd forgotten to take my wellies, served me in good stead with all the flooding surrounding the studios!

Monday, 17 February 2014

Been recording a narration for the brilliant Captive Animals Protection Society. A film with pictures by the amazing cartoonist Tony Husband.

Tuesday, 21 January 2014

Happy New Year!

Suddenly it's 2014 (and then some).  Kickstarted new year by dusting off of the home studio mic to record some IVR and call waiting for a regular client. We can all sympathise with those long on-hold waits, just remember the voiceover artist sympathises too!

Sunday, 22 December 2013

Happy Christmas!

It's been a busy busy month but, as far as I know, that's a wrap til January. Excuse the Americanism but, Happy Holidays everyone!

Archers boss resigns...

Sunday, 29 January 2012

The Nation's Narration.
